URGENT NEWS

Passport applications are free:  There are bad websites that are charging for passport applications. For applications go to https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports.html or stop by the Town Clerk's Office, M-F, 7:30am to 4:30pm.

Passport applications processing is by appointment only.  Please call 264-5520 for an appointment.  

Routine Service turn around time is 11 to 13 weeks and Expedited Service is 7 to 9 weeks.

 NEW APPLICANTS

Passports and Photos are processed by appointment Monday thru Friday. 

Please come to your appointment with the required documentation for the completion of the process. Being unprepared will result in forfeiture of your appointment. Information about required identification and citizenship proof can be found at Travel.State.Gov.

The Execution and Photo fees are payable to the Town of Colchester by cash, check, money order, or credit card. Due upon execution of application. A fee of 3.15% plus 40 cents applies when using a credit card as payment

 

RENEWALS


  •  Adult passports are valid for 10 years. 
  •  Minor passports are valid for 5 years. 

You may renew your passport if it was issued within the last 15 years. The clerks can assist you with the proper form and photo; forms are to be completed by applicant and mailed to the address on form DS-82.  No appointment is necessary to pick up renewal forms or to have a passport photo taken.  Complete instructions for passport renewal are available at Travel.State.Gov  Renew My Passport
