Request for Strategic Planning Facilitator Proposals

The Burnham Memorial Library is seeking consultant services to assist the Board, Staff, and Community in developing a comprehensive strategic plan. The plan will include a mission statement, goals, measurable objectives, and proposed activities to meet community needs for the next five years (2023-2027).  Additional details can be found in the request for proposals.

Board of Trustees

The Library Trustees work with the director to determine policy while also hiring and providing oversight of the director.  Their terms end in March in staggered years and there are five member seats. The Library Board of Trustees is an elected board. 

The board meets the 3rd Thursday of every month at 4:00pm.

Borrowing Policies

  • Any Vermont resident may register for free borrowing privileges.
  • Circulation Periods:
    • 3 weeks - Books
    • 2 weeks - New books, and audio/video materials
    • 1 week - Periodicals and passes
  • Borrowers are financially responsible for damaged and lost library materials.
  • There are only overdue fines on e-readers, and passes.
  • Items may be reserved or renewed at the library, by phone, or through the online catalog, unless the item is on hold for another patron.
  • The library has book drops located at Town Hall (781 Blakely Road), and at the Walgreens near the Price Chopper (1184 Prim Road).
