2026 Reappraisal Information

The Town of Colchester is conducting a Reappraisal of all properties in Colchester to update property values in conformance with State of Vermont requirements.  The Town is under contract with Vision Government Solution Inc. to collect data, make initial value determinations, and hold hearings with property owners regarding their determinations in the spring of 2026.  Thereafter, the Town itself will hold a three-step hearing process, with the Assessor, elected listers, and the Board of Civil Authority.

The Town will notify property owners in writing of inspections by Vision which will begin in 2025.  The inspections will include collecting data such as size, age and condition, which supports the update of the data used in the reappraisal.  We urge your cooperation, as accurate data will provide for a more equitable and accurate reappraisal.  You can call our Town Clerk’s office at 802-264-5520 to verify inspection requests.
