Red Flag Burn Alert: Due to the very dry conditions, the relative humidity, and the winds, the National Weather Service and the State of Vermont have issued a Red Flag Burn Alert for our area. Town of Colchester

Fire Department 

We provide Emergency Response Services to the Town of Colchester and provide Mutual Aid to surrounding communities. We began service Monday June 1, 2020 a month prior to our expected opening. Chief Seth Lasker, daytime firefighters Captain Dale Newton and Tyler Cootware, and many volunteers are poised to assist our community. The services the Department provides include, Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical First Response, Heavy Rescue, Water and Cold-Water Rescue, Hazmat and Marine First Response. 

The newly formed Town Department will be responding to emergency calls for service, conducting training, public education on fire prevention and fire safety, plan review, and fire prevention activities.
