2021 Annual Appeal

The Friends of the Burnham Memorial Library 2021 Appeal is now under way and we look forward to your support!

Goals for 2021 Appeal

  • Add to the catalog of e-books and audio books in Overdrive, the on-line media lending app. The use of this service continues to rise, e-books up 49% from the previous year and audio books up 22.7%!
  • Provide funding for children’s and adult programming.
  • Bring in guest programs and performers for all ages and interests.

Last year’s appeal was very successful, and provided funding for:

  • Purchase of 97 E-books and 90 audio books, added to our digital library
  • Summer Programs for children took place outdoors, with visits from:

    1. The Big Blue Trunk
    2. Southern Vermont Natural History Museum’s live animal program
    3. Rockin’ Ron, the Friendly Pirate, and others
  • Staff Led programs for kids included:

    1. Craft bags for curbside pick-up for all ages, during the time the library was closed to the public.
    2. Seven weekly “Booktivities” -- an outdoor craft or activity for children 4 and up.
    3. And the ever-popular Tie-Dye shirt-making!

Over the course of the summer, 827 people attended 62 programs for children & families.

Your support will directly benefit the Burnham Library, allowing it to grow and provide services above and beyond the basic town budget allocations.
