Water Quality Test Results
June, July & August 2011

Call 264.5628 to report Water Quality or Storm Water issues

     Water test samples are gathered every Monday and Wednesday mornings and tested for the presence of E.Coli overnight by Endyne Testing of Williston, VT. Those results are returned to the Town Offices the following morning.

Water samples with E. Coli levels higher than 77 CFU/100mL indicate water that is unsafe to swim in. High E.Coli can cause intestinal discomfort (gastroenteritis). Individual site readings above 77 CFU/100 ml indicated in RED. When two or more Bayside Beach or Rossetti Nature Area readings are above 77 CFU/100 ml, the beach will be closed and retested until the readings are acceptable. Again, Vermont has a very high standard in this regard (the National standard is 125 CFU). The followup retesting of those town sites is indicated following each high reading.
