Tax forms and help

For those who are looking to do their taxes on paper, we do have a selection of forms available. However, the Federal 1040 forms have not arrived yet, as the government was slow in finalizing them; we should receive them within a week:

  • VT State Forms - VT Income Tax Return Booklet (including IN-111, IN-112, IN-113, IN-117, IN-116, HS-145, and HI-144), LC-142, HS-131, and PR-141.
  • Federal Forms - 1040A (and instructions), 1040EZ (and instructions), Schedule A, B, C, E, EIC, R (and instructions), and SE, and Form 2441.
  • Additional forms and information are available from the Vermont Department of Taxes and the IRS.

Starting in February, we'll also be having Saturday tax help through the AARP, for seniors and lower-income households. Tax Aide Service volunteers file taxes for seniors (55+) and lower income households (<$35,000). Call 879-7576 for an appointment.

Vermont Humanities Council Gastronomy Book Discussion

In concert with the Vermont Humanities Council, we are having a four-part discussion of novels about food and culture, led by Lesley Wright. For February, we'll be reading Paper Fish, by Tina de Rosa. The discussion will be on Monday, Feb. 13th, at 6 pm. Stop by the library, and pick up a book!
