Tabletop Gaming for Kids! - Mar. 31

What games do you play? Would you like to meet at the library and play with other kids? Please come to this informational meeting, on Tuesday March 31 at 3:30 pm, where we will discuss how the library can help support a game club for children ages 9-13. Bring your ideas about possible games and other activities you think the library should host for people your age. Bring your friends!

Seeking Vendors, Musicians, and Volunteers for the Farmers' market!

The Colchester Farmers' Market is gearing up for its fourth season. The market is located on the green in front of Burnham Memorial Library and the Meeting House in Colchester Village, at 898 Main Street. It takes place on Wednesdays, rain or shine, from 4-7 pm. Our 2015 season runs from June 10 to August 26. This is a great opportunity for new vendors just getting started. Produce and prepared foods are especially desirable, but all vendors will be considered. We are offering a new lower rate this season, and an early bird discount. For applications and more information, check out our website here or call the Library at 264-5660.

One-on-One Tutoring

Update - We still have quite a few openings, especially on Saturdays. Students from the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (Colchester campus) are tutoring students in reading, math, and science at the library. The program is focused on grades 1-6, but tutoring is available in other grades for certain subjects. Sessions are scheduled for Mondays from 4-8 pm, Wednesdays from 4-8 pm, and Saturdays from 9:30 am-3 pm. There is no fee for the service. You can call us at 264-5660 to sign up, or for more information.

New Item List (Updated 3/4/15)

Here is a list of our recent acquisitions, by category. If you'd like to put one of these new items on hold, you can login to your online account, e-mail us, or call us at 264-5660. Please let us know if you have any questions or comments.

Tax Forms

Unfortunately, this year the library will only get a limited selection of forms from the IRS, and no forms from the State.

  1. View and download forms from the web - http://irs.gov/Forms
  2. Order forms online to be delivered by mail - http://irs.gov/orderforms
  3. Order forms by phone to be delivered by mail - Call 1-800-829-3676

State - Here's how you can get State tax forms:

  1. Download fillable PDF forms from the web - Download, complete, and print forms at http://tax.vermont.gov/
  2. Order forms by email - Email a request to taxforms@state.vt.us
  3. Order forms by phone - Call toll-free in the U.S. at 1-855-297-5600

When ordering by phone or email, please provide 1) your name; 2) mailing address; 3) form number or form name; and 4) daytime phone number.

Volunteering

Would you like to helps us out? The library currently has openings for volunteers to assist with shelving books. Stop by the library for an application, or more information! You can read about Cris Herrlich, one of our many dedicated volunteers, in this recent Burlington Free Press Article.
