Colchester Farmers' Market - Sept. 10

The last Farmers' Market of the season takes place this Wednesday, from 4-7 pm. Our musical guest will be Dawna Hammers, who plays blues & folk (5-7 pm), and at the wellness table Shaw's Osco and Colchester Family Practice will be offering flu shots. Flu shots are open to those 18 and up, and you should bring your insurance card ($25 without insurance). We'll also have the usual food, crafts, and more. Limited parking is available at Burnham Library, with additional parking at Our Lady of Grace next door. You can find more information at this link.

Perennial Plant Swap - Sept. 13

Takes place on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 10 am, in the library courtyard. Bring a plant in a labeled container and see what your neighbors bring to exchange! Swapping starts at 10:00 am on-the-button. Please, no Orange Daylilies/Ditch Lilies.

Bike Commuting Workshop with Local Motion - Sept. 24

Takes place on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 6:30 pm. Come to a workshop on bike commuting put on by Local Motion! The workshop will include tips from experts on incorporating bicycle commuting into any lifestyle, advice and guidance, information resources, and low-cost gear.

Author Visit by Adam Gidwitz - Sept. 29

Join us for an author visit by Adam Gidwitz on Monday, Sept. 29 at 6 pm. Gidwitz is the author of the bestselling children's books A Tale Dark and Grimm, In a Glass Grimmly, and The Grimm Conclusion. Drop by the library to pick up copies of his books to read before the event and join us for his talk and discussion.

Early Literacy Skills Training for Childcare Providers - Oct. 14

Join us for ELT training for Childcare providers on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 6:30 pm. Youth Librarians from the Burnham Library will introduce concepts of early literacy for babies and toddlers. The information discussed will incorporate ideas from the Beginning with Mother Goose Program and The American Library Association's Every Child Ready to Read program. There will be giveaways to help providers incorporate these concepts into their programs. Participants will receive credit from Vermont Northern Lights. Refreshments will be served.
