Be Tobacco Free in 2015 - starting May 6
If you're ready to quit, join this free five-week class, sponsored by UVM Medical Center. It will be led by a trained tobacco treatment specialist, and takes place in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. You'll receive a free ten-week supply of gum, patches, or lozenges. Classes take place on Wednesdays at the Library, from 11 am-12 pm, and run from May 6 to June 3. Teen Tinker Tuesday: May Baskets - May 12

Dungeons & Dragons Night - May 13 & 27
Update - The dates have changed from what was originally published. Whether you're new to pen & paper role-playing games, or have been playing since the olden days, join our D&D group for an evening of fun! We play on Wednesday, May 13 & 27, from 5:30-7:45 pm. Players take on invented personas and use cleverness and luck to face challenges, defeat enemies, and save the day. For participants age 14 to adult. Perennial Plant Swap - May 16
Join us for our biannual plant swap on Saturday, May 16 at 10 am in the library courtyard. Bring a plant in a labeled container and see what your neighbors bring to exchange! Swapping starts precisely at 10:00 am. Please, no Orange Daylilies/Ditch Lilies.
Practice SAT Exam - May 16
Kaplan and the Burnham Memorial Library have partnered to offer students a Free SAT Practice Test. The test will allow students to sit for the exam and have an SAT testing experience. All students will receive a full score report outlining their strengths and weaknesses. The test takes place just down the street at Our Lady of Grace Church (784 Main Street).
Book Sale Donations - Jun. 19-20
To avoid moving thousands of books between locations, the Friends will only be accepting donations the weekend before the sale. The drop-off is located at the high school, and will be open on Friday, June 19 from 12-8 pm, and on Saturday June 20, from 8-2 pm. They are seeking books, CD's, and DVD's in good condition; please no textbooks, encyclopedias, VHS tapes, or books that are moldy or damaged.
Friends of the Library Book Sale - Jun. 26-28
Though it's not till June, we'd like to let people know the details about the annual book sale. It takes place the weekend of June 26-28, at the Colchester High School. Friday (3-9 pm) will be a preview for Friends of the Library members, though you can join at the door. The sale will continue on Saturday (8-4 pm), as we offer a variety of books, CD's, and more. On Sunday (10 am-12 pm), we'll have a blow-out sale on remaining items!
Seeking Vendors, Musicians, and Volunteers for the Farmers' market!
The Colchester Farmers' Market is gearing up for its fourth season. The market is located on the green in front of Burnham Memorial Library and the Meeting House in Colchester Village, at 898 Main Street. It takes place on Wednesdays, rain or shine, from 4-7 pm. Our 2015 season runs from June 10 to August 26. This is a great opportunity for new vendors just getting started. Produce and prepared foods are especially desirable, but all vendors will be considered. We are offering a new lower rate this season, and an early bird discount.
