Summer Programming - Still Openings

We still have room in many of our summer programs. You can register for programs many programs here. If you'd like to see the full summer schedule, download it here (PDF format).

Blue Collar America

In this four-part Vermont Humanities Council program, we'll be discussing the working class, looking past stereotypes to examine the realities of minimum wage existence, small-town economics, and social divisions. The discussions will be led by Suzanne Brown. This month (on Monday, Aug. 18 at 6 pm), we'll discuss What Work Is by Phillip Levine. Copies of the book are available for checkout.

Colchester Farmers' Market

The Farmers' Market takes place every Wednesday, from 4-7 pm, on the green in front of the library. Stop by for food, crafts, and (often) music. The Market will take place rain or shine, and features local farmers, artisans, food vendors, a wellness table, and musicians. Limited parking is available at Burnham Library, with additional parking at Our Lady of Grace next door. The committee is still seeking vendors and musical acts. You can find more information, as well as a vendor application, at this link.

This week, our wellness table will feature RehabGYM talking about "Use It to Lose It."

Adult Summer Reading Contests

This summer we've got a series of contests for adults. In Reading Reactions, fill out a ticket for each book you read - we'll pick one winner each month. For Program Round Up, you can fill out an entry for each adult program you attend during the summer. And finally, for Know Your Author, you can match authors with their dust jacket photos to be entered for a prize.
