  1. Braided Rug Workshop

    Come learn the lost art of making beautiful and functional braid-in rag rugs! This method uses upcycled cotton or cotton-blend t-shirts and requires very little sewing. All materials are provided to make a small forest-green rag rug, though we welcome you to bring along any other cotton and cotton-blend t-shirts in other colors that can be introduced in your rug. If you have any of the following notions and tools, please feel free bring them along – if you do not have these, rest assured that we will have plenty to share!: Fabric scissors sharp and sturdy enough to cut through two layers of t-shirt material; rotary cutting mat and rotary cutter, clear rotary-cutting acrylic ruler at least 12” long; size 8, 9 or 10mm crochet hook(s). Registration is required.

    The Planning Commission oversees revisions to the Town Zoning Regulations, undertakes planning studies for the long-term growth of Colchester, and updates the Town Plan. They meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at the Town Offices (Outer Bay Room, 3rd Floor) at 7:00 PM.

Selectboard

  1. Selectboard Meeting

    November 27, 2018, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM @ Outer Bay Conference Room

    The selectboard is responsible for general supervision of the affairs of the town; this includes enacting ordinances and rules, proposing an annual budget and setting the tax rate, appointing individuals to non-elected boards and commissions, and a variety of other related tasks. Meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, 6:30 pm, at the Colchester Town Offices, 781 Blakely Road, in the Outer Bay Conference Room on the 3rd floor. Enter through the front door of the building and take the elevator or the stairs to the left. Special meetings at different times and locations are also held occasionally throughout the year.
